Pretty Woman

Why haven't I seen this movie before?? I asked myself this question after I saw this movie a few weeks ago. This movie was wonderful! Rich man hires a prostitute to accompany him on a business trip in Los Angeles, they begin to like each other, and so on. I absolutely loved this movie! I couldn't believe I had not seen it before. Richard Gere and Julia Roberts were the perfect actors for this movie, I don't think anyone could have played the parts better! There's not much more to say about it,but BRAVO! I give this movie an A+, without a doubt!

The Perfect Getaway

Alrighty, here's another movie I have watched over the past couple of weeks... The Perfect Getaway. This movie has 6 strangers (3 couples) and they are in Hawaii hiking, and there are killers on the island somewhere, killing off couples on their honeymoon. Of course each of the couples think the others are the killers.
This movie had a great plot. The actors that were cast were amazing as well: Steve Zahn, Timothy Olyphant, Milla Jovovich. I absolutely loved this movie. I am afraid of giving too much away, so I won't explain very much for those who haven't seen it. This movie does have a few twists and turns, but it was well worth watching! Beautiful setting, great plot, amazing cast... I give this movie an A-. Well done!

Gamer

Happy Belated 4th of July everyone! So, yesterday was July 4th, and I went to with a couple of friends to their family's for a BBQ, and there we watched this movie "Gamer." I hadn't heard of it before, hadn't seen previews or anything on it. As soon as I heard Gerard Butler was in it, there was no doubt in my mind that I would love the movie... Well, I was a little wrong, I didn't exactly love this movie. This movie definitely had great potentnial, it's plot seemed great - set in the future, where humans can control other humans minds. Those whose minds were being controlled were death row inmates who had volunteered to be controlled. If they survived 30 sessions at war, they were set free. Sounds great, right? Wrong, the movie was just so unbelievably gory. As I had said the movie definitely had great potential, but it just wasn't for me. It could have had an A, but unfortunately, I have to give this movie a D... Sorry Gerard Butler! I love you, but this movie sucked!

The Hangover

Ok, again, I haven't blogged in a while. I am so sorry. Between the end of the semester with finals and such, and then the beginning of summer with Flyers game playoffs, I have been so busy, with barely any time to blog! Well, good news is, I have PLENTY of movies to talk about, so stay tuned for a ton of reviews.

Anywho, let's get back to movies, shall we?

First of all, let's talk about "The Hangover." Here is a movie I have seen a million times, and still laugh hysterically at the same parts every single time I see it. Like I said, I've seen it before, but it is definitely worth talking about. From the moment this movie started until the very end, there was always something to laugh about. The goofy guy Alan, Phil the teacher who hates his life, Stu the dentist (a.k.a. Dr. Faggot) and his b!tchy girlfriend, and Doug who is about to get married but his friends somehow "lose" him in Vegas because of an awful hangover.

As they are trying to find their friend Doug to get him back in time for his wedding, the guys come across so many insane road blocks, and they also find out about the things that happened while they were "out of it", including why they found a jungle cat in their hotel bathroom. Which leads to so many more hilarious issues for the guys. Just thinking about it all gets me laughing.

Anyway, if you haven't seen this movie yet, you need to see it ASAP! It's a great one you don't want to miss out on. And my grade for this movie is without a doubt and A++

The Ugly Truth

The Ugly Truth... This is one of the movies I have really wanted to see, but hadn't gotten the chance to. Gerard Butler (LOVE HIM) and Katherine Heigl star in the hilarious movie! Katherine Heigl plays, for lack of better wording, a "romantically challenged" morning show producer. Gerard Butler plays the host of a television show for relationship help, so to say, called "The Ugly Truth"... Without giving too much away, they eventually cross paths, which makes this movie extremely hilarious. I definitely give this movie an A... Like I have said in almost every post before, if you haven't seen it, go rent it, and enjoy!

Dirty Dancing

DIRTY DANCING... Why haven't I ever seen this movie before now?? I had so many people shocked that I hadn't seen this movie before, and I myself am ashamed that it has taken me this long to see it. Anyway, I absolutely loved this movie, and it is now one of my all time favorites! Patrick Swayze (may he rest in peace) did a fantastic job, as well as Jennifer Grey. The dancing was AMAZING, ans so was the music. I fell in love with it all! There's not really much more I can say about this movie, other than AMAZING! There is no doubt that I give this movie and A+

All About Steve

"All About Steve" -- Where do I begin with this one?? I really wasn't too excited about seeing this movie. I hadn't heard anything about it, until my sister-in-law told me that I had to see it, and that I would like it. So, I finally saw it, and she was right, I really liked it! Sandra Bullock did a fantastic job and this annoying cross-word puzzle creator, and she actually made me kind of hate her because she was so annoying; but, in my opinion, that is a sign of good acting when they get so into their character that the viewer can actually dislike them... Bravo!
Then, there's Bradley Cooper... Need I say more?? He is one of my favorit actors, and he is becoming really popular nowadays; he's in pretty much every movie that comes out. I'm a big fan of these two actors and I am now a big fan of this movie! I give it an A. If you haven't seen it, get on it!

I Love You, Man

Okay, first of all, before I talk about "I Love You, Man" I just want to give a heads up that there will be a bunch of blogs in the next few days. I haven't been online very much, my computer crashed, so that means that I've been watching more movies, hence more blogs to come!! So keep an eye out!

Now, "I Love You, Man"... This is one of the movies I have seen before, but hadn't watched in a while. Anyway, it is hilarious!! Paul Rudd and Jason Siegal are pure awesome together in this movie... or should I say Pistol and Jobin, haha! They are 2 of my favorite comedic actors, Paul Rudd especially. I also liked the cameo by Lou Ferrigno, it was very funny! Anyway, this is a must see movie, and one of my favorites! If you haven't seen it, go out and rent it (or buy it for that matter). I give it a grade of an A.

Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day, the movie... Where do I begin? First of all, the movie was fantastic! I did think it was similar to the movie Love Actually, but definitely ten times better. The cast was amazing, such a diverse group of people: Ashton Jutcher, Queen Latifah, Bradley Cooper, Eric Dane, Jessica Alba, Jessica Biel, Julia Roberts, Jennifer Garner, Taylor Lautner, Taylor Swift, Jamie Foxx, Anne Hathaway, Patrick Dempsey, Emma Roberts, Shirlie McLaine, Hector Elizondo, Topher Grace, Kathy Bates... So many big names in Hollywood! I wouldn't be surprised if I forgot a few names in there! They all did a fantastic job!! My only complaint is that Taylor Swift's character could have been a little less annoying, but I still think she did a great job. This is a movie I will definitely buy when it comes out onto DVD. It was a great girl's night out movie! I give it an A++ !! If you haven't seen it, go to the movies this weekend to see it! I promise you won't be disappointed!

Coraline

This is a movie that wasn't on my list, but it happened to be on TV the other day, so I decided to watch it. "Coraline" is an animated-type kids movie, but it was really good! I'd say it was a little on the creepy side for the kids, but otherwise great movie! There was definitely some comedy mixed in with the scary stuff, but it was definitely a great movie! Voices of the characters were Dakota Fanning as Coraline and Teri Hatcher as Mel Jones, "Other Mother" and Beldam...

Overall, I'd give this movie and "A"!

The Big Lebowski

Okay, so this movie my brother has been bugging me to see for a very, very long time. It just so happens that a movie theater we go to plays a midnight movie on the last Friday of every month. The last Friday of January, it just so happened that it was this movie "The Big Lebowski."
Starring Jeff Bridges, John Goodman, with Steve Buscemi, and John Turturro, this movie is amazing and hilarious! The Dude who is so funny, and Walter who screws everything up, with John Turturro's character as Jesus, and Steve Buscemi's character Donnie, the poor guy can't speak a word without getting told to shut up.
It is such a great movie! My rating for this is without a doubt an A+ It is a must see movie!!

Accepted

"Accepted"... Where do I begin to talk about this movie? Great cast, great story line, I loved it all! Justin Long, Blake Lively, Jonah Hill, etc. Love them all! I don't even really think I can go into detail about the movie, other than just saying it was great. So, my grade for this movie is an A! Love it, love it, love it!

Love Actually

Okay, so I haven't posted in a while, but I have a few movies to blog about... So, first of all, I watched the movie "Love Actually." A couple of people told me that this movie was pretty great, so I had high expectations, but I was not very impressed. There was a great diversity of actors and actresses, all of which I love, but just the movie in general wasn't that great. There were a few funny moments, but just overall, I wasn't so impressed.
So, for this movie, I'd have to give it a grade of a B-. Not horrible, but not exactly great either.

The Wedding Date

Alrighty, Sunday night I chose to watch one of the movie off of my list... Finally... I chose "The Wedding Date." My sister-in-law said it was one of her favorite movies, so I chose it, and I loved it! Dermot Mulroney and Debra Messing were great together in this movie. It was funny, and also had some sentimental moments as well. I loved the character "TJ" the one girlfriend, she was hilarious.
Anyway, it was a GREAT movie, and I give it an A+

Movie 1: On Golden Pond

Okay, so last night I kicked off my Year of the Movie, not with a movie on my list (I'm bad, I know!) but with an older movie that my family loves and we have seen a million times... "On Golden Pond." This movies is a family favorite, and it is one that my family quotes all of the time in daily conversation. I absolutely love this movie, and recommend it to all. If you haven't seen it, it was made in 1981, and stars Henry Fonda, Katherine Hepburn, and Jane Fonda... It is a great movie, VERY funny yet sentimental, and the dialogue is so catchy, that you will probably find yourself quoting it on a daily basis with your family.

Alright, so one movie down, about a billion to go. I am hoping to watch one tonight, maybe one that I haven't seen that is actually on my list.
Anyway, off to call "the loons! The loons are calling! Loooooooooons, Looooooooooo..." (quote from "On Golden Pond")
